CALENDAR
Please keep the studio calendar posted and note closings. We are not automatically closed when schools are closed.
CHANGE OF INFORMATION
Please notify us immediately if there are any changes to your contact information so we can keep all records and emergency contact information up to date. You can email us or drop us a note in the tuition payment box.
CLASS ATTENDANCE
Please notify us via email or phone if your child will be absent for class. For safety purposes, we always account for all children. Regular attendance at class is very important. It is difficult for the rest of the class when students are absent, especially when the class is working on choreography. Excessive absenteeism may result in removal from the class.
CONCERNS
Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We are always available for you via phone, email or in-person.
FOOD & DRINK
No gum, candy, food or drinks (except water) are allowed on the studio floor. Students may consume food and drinks in the waiting room only. Students must be respectful of the studio and clean up after themselves. Students who come to class straight from school should bring a healthy, energy providing snack to consume before class.
LOST AND FOUND
Please clearly label all dance shoes and attire. There is a lost and found receptacle in the dressing room. Please check this regularly for belongings left at the studio.
OBSERVING CLASS
Classes may be observed through the windows in the waiting rooms. There will be special observation days when family and friends will be invited to observe class in the studio.
PROGRESS REPORTS
Student progress reports will be sent home in January and in June. June progress reports will also include class recommendations for the following year.
RECITAL/PERFORMANCES
There will be a March performance of Charlotte’s Web at Thatcher Brook Elementary school (performed by Kids Musical Theater). Admission to this performance is by donation only and all proceeds will go to Thatcher Brook Elementary School. The all school dance recital is on May 16th at Harwood Union High School. There will be two performances, an afternoon and an evening show, and students will be assigned a performance time. Some of the older students will perform in both shows. At both shows, the 2nd half of the performance will be the musical ‘Grease’ performed by the Jr/Sr Musical Theater class. Each family receives 2 free recital tickets. Additional tickets can be purchased in advance ($8) or at the door ($10) if available. Detailed recital information will be sent home in March.
RECITAL COSTUMES
Costumes are ordered through several professional costumes companies and because we do not “mark-up” our costumes they must be ordered no later than January 7th to get the best pricing available. Students will be measured for costumes in December and costumes will arrive in April. If a student joins a class after costumes have been ordered, he/she will have to pay the full current price for that costume plus shipping.
SHOE & ATTIRE RECYCLE
Please send in any dance shoes or attire that your child has outgrown. We have a recycle box at the studio. Also, if you are in need of shoes or attire for your child, let us know and we can check the box.
STUDIO CLOSING
If the studio is closed due to inclement weather or an emergency, there will be a message on the studio phone and the website. We DO NOT automatically close the studio if Waterbury area schools are closed, so please check. We will schedule make-ups when we close the studio.
STUDIO RULES
