Laurie Flaherty

Co-Owner One Studio Dance and Yoga

Dance Instructor and Dance Program Director

Laurie's passion for dance started as early as she can remember and she has been dancing ever since. She started lessons in ballet and gymnastics at 4 years old and she started dancing competitively at 9 years old. While growing right outside of Boston, Laurie had had the opportunity to study dance with many outstanding teachers, but she received most of her technical training and inspiration from talented dancer and choreographer, Kerry Smith at the Academy of Performing Arts. Laurie went on to perform with an award winning jazz dance company directed by Smith for 6 years. She has studied many forms of dance but has extensive training in jazz, hip hop, ballet and creative/modern dance. In 2005, Laurie was finally able to combine her two passions in life, dance and working with children, into her full-time career. She taught over 80 students through her private dance program "All That Dance" and she also taught dance at Harwood Union High School. Laurie continues to further her own study of dance by taking master classes from well known choreographers around the country, attending teacher training workshops and working on developing and writing her own syllabi for classes. She loves to teach and she enjoys working with students of all ages and abilities. Laurie strongly believes that dance in all its forms is incredibly beneficial to the body, mind and spirit and that the study and mastery of movement can help children and adults to feel better and gain more confidence in their daily lives. Laurie lives in Waterbury with her very supportive husband and their four wonderful children.

Chris Thomas

Breakin' Instructor

Chris Thomas, aka "B-Boy Hybrid," has been breaking for 10 years.  He is a member of the well known Burlington based breakin' crew, The Rhythm Riderz.  Chris treats breaking as an art; he is an artist.  His focus with the dance is to combine innovative movement and consistency in style with stylized self-expression.  His goal is to be highly dynamic and completely original with his interpretation of the music each time he performs.  "Movements" rather than "moves" are what make his dance an art and he feels that these combinations of movements help sooth the mind, body and soul.  Chris would like to share the art of breaking with all who are willing to learn.

Beni Watson

Breakin' Instructor

Beni Watson, aka "B-Boy Bangerang," has been breakin' for almost five years now but he has been tapping into the deeper meanings and approaches to the life style surrounding the dance form known as Rhythm Riding for about three.  B-boying is a major passion in his life and will continue to be for many years to come.  Beni believees that there are many lessons to be learned from this dance far beyond the simple challenges of spinning on your head or balancing on your arms.  Despite his advances in these skills, he is always learning something new from riding the rhythm.  He is always pushing himself to improve in the different foundations of b-boying such as freestyle, power, choreography, and musicality through various disciplines and philosophies that he and his crew have developed.  Live good, feel good, dance good!
