Green Mountain Performing Arts - Waterbury Vermont

SUPPORT GMPA

As One Studio Dance reopens as the nonprofit Green Mountain Performing Arts (GMPA), we need the community’s support more than ever.  Our mission remains nearly identical: to enhance community cultural vitality by providing fully accessible dance, theatre and music education in a non-competitive and supportive environment to people of all ages, with a focus on children and youth.

GMPA was officially incorporated as nonprofit on October 3, 2011, we have received our EIN from the IRS, have opened a bank account for the new nonprofit, have adopted bylaws and formed a Board of Directors, and we have a pending decision by the IRS on our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.

URGENT NEED—Build-up and Refit of Studio:  As the October 20th Waterbury Record story relates, the leased physical space at 2 Elm Street that housed One Studio has been made indefinitely unusable as a result of the flooding.  GMPA has reached a new lease agreement at 37 Commercial Drive in the Moretown Industrial Complex (near Dave’s Fitness, etc.).  The challenge is that this space was also impacted by the floods, and will require build-out and fit-up improvements estimated at $60,000 to make the two new studio spaces fully operational for our program’s needs.

We have received lead grants totaling $30,000 to support this effort.  Please consider making a donation to support our efforts to create a warm and inviting new space for the performing arts in the Waterbury/Richmond/Mad River Valley corridor.

Scholarships and Tuition Assistance:  Like One Studio before it, GMPA will provide financial assistance to all students in need.  The Taber Merchant Memorial Scholarship Fund has been created to provide need-based scholarships for any class offered at GMPA.
Please indicate if you wish to have your tax-deductible donation go to support this scholarship fund.

Fundraising Events:  Benefit performances and events will be held throughout the year to raise core program support to keep our tuition costs affordable for all, and to continue our tradition of excellence in providing an accessible, heart-centered and vibrant performing arts education in our Green Mountain state.

Checks can be made payable to: Green Mountain Performing Arts and mailed to 37 Commercial Drive, Waterbury, VT 05676 or donate online to the General Fund and the Taber Merchant Memorial Scholarship Fund.

Thank your for helping us to keep our kids dancing!
